American Heritage Girls first Award Ceremony

We had a great time at our first Court of Awards and Joining Ceremony! All of the girls who completed their joining requirements lit their own candle and recited the AHG Oath and Creed with the entire group, marking their official membership into the Troop. The candle symbolized their own life and they were encouraged to shine “in such a way that [others] may see [their] good works and glorify [their] Father who is in heaven.” (Matt 5:16)

Unit Leaders then shared what their groups have done so far this year and everyone enjoyed the slide shows highlighting our activities and service projects. Finally, our Troop Shepherd, Beth Gindorf, challenged and encouraged us all to use our words to be a blessing to others. It was a great evening.

The best part of it all, however, was seeing the shining, excited faces of the AHG girls throughout the ceremony as they listened, participated, and watched. We are thankful for each one of them!
